Attractions

There's always something outdoors to do no matter
what season your visiting us in.  Of course we are
best known for our majestic rivers and large
national forests but the culture around the
Clearwater Valley is also something to be desired.
The people are friendly and there are a variety of
local hang outs that you certainly won't forget
anytime soon.
The Chatterbox Coffee House & Café

The Chatterbox is one of the most unique places in
the pacific northwest and something you wouldn't
expect to see in a small town of 280 people.  The
Hall Family started the Chatterbox in 2005 and it's
only a short 25 yard hike from the Idaho Sportsman
Lodge.

We serve up all your favorite coffee and espresso
drinks as well as gourmet pizza, salads,
sandwiches, breakfast wraps, ice cream and more.
Hunting
North Central Idaho is a top destination for all types of hunters.  From birds to big game, our region
features a large population of elk and whitetail deer.  Hunters will also find mountain goats, bighorn sheep,
moose, cougar and black bear.
Fishing
Don't tell anyone but the Clearwater River is a fisherman's paradise and boasts some of the best steel
head fishing in the country.  Besides our incredible steel head we have Chinook salmon, rainbow trout,
bass, whitefish and several other popular game fish.
Rafting & Kayaking
During the summer it's almost impossible not to see excited groups of kayakers and rafters barrelling down
the tricky rapids of Lochsa, Selway and Middle fork rivers.
Snowmobiling & Skiing
Although we don't get much snow down on the river in Stites you don't have to go but a few miles out of
town to find incredible snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Hiking & Backpacking
There are hundreds of miles of National Forest Trails to guide you into beautiful lakes, crystal clear rivers
and remote hot springs.
